I want to be the bridge person between the ATProto community and the (indie) music business.

I am an independent artist (Hilke), being on the board of a collectively owned music label (Red Brick Records). I recently also joined the board of Indiesuisse, an association representing many Swiss indie music labels.

On the international level, Indiesuisse is part or an international association of indie labels, Impala. On the Swiss level, Indiesuisse does lobby work with the government and the rights collection societies, such as SUISA and Swissperform.

Since almost 10 years I code for a living, but in areas outside of music and culture. I worked or work with Ruby on Rails, React (javascript) and Python (Django). I am very interested into directing my combination of coding skills and music business knowledge into the realm of music business tech and the ATProto. Ideally that helps me pay my bills.

goal 1: make musicians switch from Instagram/Tik Tok to Bluesky/ATProto

building music related feeds for our communities

goal 2: building a music lexicon for ATProto

building a lexicon that is compatible with current business models around copyright and neighbouring rights, using data point standards like ISRC (audio recordings) and ISWC (composition and lyrics). Collecting societies are the right partners here, because they collect money for both small and big players

goal 3: improve data sovereignity

by setting up PDSes in different countries/jurisdictions, maybe clustered around regional music communities. Maybe it makes sense that collecting societies like Suisa (Switzerland) set up a PDS for their members, and artists post both their social media posts and music there.
